Courtiers

Members of the nobility spend part of the year on their own estates and part of the year at court, developing their influence, advising the young queen, securing trade agreements, jousting in tournaments, marrying off their children, and catching up on the latest fashions.

The queen, like her uncle before her, is advised by a royal council. The council often gathers intelligence for the queen…and has perhaps continued to do so for her uncle, as well.

The queen is also attended by a group of ladies in waiting, mostly younger unmarried daughters of the noble families. A recent addition to their number is the oldest daughter and heir of the Baron of Axa, the lord from whom the town of Kalash rents its land. The attendants have their own futures to think about, from advancing their families to marrying for love or influence to completely changing the game.
